Receiving Lymphatic Massage After Surgery

Receiving Lymphatic Massage After Surgery

Massage improves the circulation of blood and lymphatic fluid throughout the body. The movement of blood and lymphatic fluid throughout the body also keeps toxins from settling in one area of the body. Massage improves oxygenation to the body tissues and organs and reduces inflammation, swelling, and bruising. Massages prevent stiffness and pain. Massages can also restore the full range of motion of muscles.

It's best to get massages after wounds and incisions have become a scar. Receiving a massage before wounds and incisions have healed puts clients at risk of infection.
