What to Expect Pre & Post BBL

What to Expect Pre & Post BBL

What exactly is a BBL? A Brazilian Butt Lift is a cosmetic procedure that the surgeon performs to the buttocks of his or her patient to give them a more fuller, rounder, curvaceous shape to their derriere.  This procedure is a two-step procedure.  The first step will involve the Surgeon removing fat from other areas of your body then, cleaning and processing that fat.  The second step will be transferring that fat via a small canula to the desired locations of your derriere.  Usually, patients will have fat removed (liposuction) from areas of their body where stubborn fat exist such; as their waist, back, and abdomen.  Most surgeons require a candidate for BBL to have a BMI of at least 30.  Thinner patients may have fat removed from their arms, or thighs.  Things to consider:

  • Make arrangements for someone to assist you with your children and pets for at least the first 2 weeks.
  • If your not at your desired weight.  Try to achieve a manageable body weight that your able to maintain prior to surgery.  Fluctuations in body weight after this procedure can negatively affect your desired results.
  • Be prepared for recovery.  Browse this website and purchase some of  our clients favorite products and services like our 5-day, or  7- day recovery package.  If you reside in our local service area or your planning to have surgery here locally (Ft Myers, FL) schedule a consultation so we can assist you with your recovery needs.  Purchase compression garments, a toilet riser, urinal, BBL pillow absorbent pads, etc.
  • Make sure you have loose fitting clothing that buttons down the front dresses, night gowns, sweat pants etc. Avoid clothing you have to pull over your head.  It's not recommended that you stretch your arms over your head.
  • Remember, you will not be able to sit or lay on your derriere for approximately 4-6 weeks.  Any pressure applied to your bum at this time will interfere with the fat that was transferred, preventing it from adhering to it's new location and getting a good blood supply.  In the absence of a good blood supply the transferred fat will die.  This will negatively affect your results.
  • No jeans, tights or any other clothes that fit you tightly until your Surgeon recommends it safe.  Plan on wearing loose clothing for a bout 2-3 months post surgery.
  • Plan to be off from work for at least two weeks.  However, once you return to work, you will still need to wear your compression garment, tote your BBL pillow to drive and sit at work.  You will also, need to continue using your riser, and urinal to use the restroom.
  • No strenuous exercise, or activities for at least 4-6 weeks depending on your Surgeon's recommendations.

In about 2-3 months after following your Surgeon's recommendations and swelling has subsided you will be ready to reveal your new curvaceous figure. I hope this helps, I have been getting questions about this procedure for a few weeks now.

 Happy Healing!!
